Cara Mereset Cisco Switch Catalyst 2960 ke Factory Default Setting


Posting ini dilatarbelakangi ketika TKJ SMK Gondang memiliki Cisco Switch Catalyst 2960 yang sudah disetting oleh pemakai sebelumnya. Sehingga tidak dapat login via console. Tidak ada cara lain selain harus melakukan Reset agar Cisco Switch Catalyst 2960 kembali ke Factory Default Setting.   1. Hubungkan kabel Console dari Switch ke PC melalui port Serial.
  2. dan nyalakan Switch, seketika lalu tekan dan tahan tombol "mode"

    Hal ini akan menyela proses booting sebelum menjalankan file sistem pada Flash, dan setelah beberapa saat (masih menahan tombol "mode") kita akan melihat tampilan seperti ini:

    Using driver version 1 for media type 1
    Base ethernet MAC Address: 4c:30:2d:81:ef:80
    Xmodem file system is available.
    The password-recovery mechanism is enabled.
    The system has been interrupted prior to initializing the
    flash filesystem. The following commands will initialize
    the flash filesystem, and finish loading the operating
    system software:
    flash_init
    boot
    switch:


  3. Bukalah Program Hyper-Terminal dan akseslah mode CLI.
  4. Jalankan file sistem Flash dengan perintah : flash_init

    switch: flash_init
    Initializing Flash...

  5. Hapuslah file config.text dari direktori flash:

    switch: del flash:config.text
    Are you sure you want to delete "flash:config.text" (y/n)?y
    File "flash:config.text" deleted


  6. Hapuslah file vlan.dat dari direktori flash

    switch: del flash:vlan.dat
    Are you sure you want to delete "vlan.dat" (y/n)?y
    File "flash:vlan.dat" deleted


  7. Reboot / restart switch dan selesai
